Wrap Around Care
Wrap Around Care - Breakfast and Afterschool Club
Townfield Primary School operates a Breakfast and Afterschool club. It is run by qualified and experienced staff and is open to all children between the ages of 3-11 years.
The children are cared for in a relaxed, yet enjoyable environment where social interaction between all age groups is encouraged. Our aim is to keep children safe, happy and entertained.
The children are asked what they would like to do whilst in the setting and plans are drawn up based on their individual interests and needs. If a child requires help with homework or needs some specific help within an area of learning, then the staff will endeavour to work with your child and the class teacher to support them.
Breakfast Club Opening Hours 7.45 am - 8.45 am Cost - £3.50 & £2.75 for siblings
Children can be dropped off from 7.45 am; for safeguarding reasons they must be escorted to the door and handed over to a member of staff to be registered and signed in. At 8.45 am they are taken by a member of staff to their classrooms and handed over to their teachers.
They are offered a choice of cereals, toasted bread, crumpets or muffins, yoghurts, fruit and drinks which include milk, water and fruit juice.
The children also have activities to keep them occupied: board games and puzzles, craft and drawing equipment, small world toys and construction.
After School Opening Hours 3.15 pm - 6.00 pm Cost - £9.00 & £6.75 for siblings
Children from Nursery and Reception are brought over by their teachers, Key stage 1 children are collected from their classrooms by a member of the team and Key stage 2 children make their own way to us. If your child is attending any other extra-curricular activity after school and you wish for them to come to us after this, then please inform us so that we know to expect them and to save them some snack.
All children are registered when they arrive and then go to wash their hands for snack.
Snacks consist of a healthy choice of foods which compliment what they have had to eat at lunch time in school and provide a balanced diet. Menu's are reviewed termly and are put together following feedback from children to make sure they get a choice of what they are eating.
Children can then choose what they would like to do. There is always an adult led activity which will be based on the children’s interests or that will teach them a specific skill. E.g. Tying and cleaning their shoes, cookery, sewing, den building and much more.
We also have access to the outdoor play areas and the ICT area and a vast range of games and toys to choose from.
Children can be collected anytime up to closing at 6.00 pm. A late charge of £5.00 per 15 minutes will apply if they are collected late. Children will not be released to anybody under the age of 18 or anyone without their password.
