Paddington Bears

Our motto in Paddington Bears is 'Just Keep Swimming'.  This means that we never give up on a task and we show perseverance in all our learning activities.  We know that we are stronger when we work together as a team and we love challenges as these make our brains grow strong.

This term our topic has been about 'Jobs'.  The children really enjoyed dressing up in costumes that showed what they want to be when they grow up.  This included Artists, Footballers and Vets. We learnt about jobs around the world and the gruelling jobs that Victorian children had to suffer.

In Paddington Bears we enjoy fun, active learning activities such as operations aerobics, where we have a workout to music that helps us remember the different mathematical operations and Kung Fu Punctuation in Literacy which helps us to remember our punctuation.  Recently in English we have been learning the story 'Where the Wild Things Are'. We have discussed the character of Max and also formed opinions about the story.

Last term we visited the Boat Museum in Ellesmere Port where the children had the opportunity to dress up in historical clothing and learn about different homes from the past.  We also hope to visit Gordale Garden Centre next term as part of our 'In the Garden' topic.  As part of this topic we will also go on a mini beast hunt and design and make a bug hotel.
