Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships. We aim to build a strong partnership between practitioners and parents, valuing and respecting all children and families.

Important information

Session times:

Morning session 8:45-11:45

Afternoon session 12:30-3:30

Please phone the school office if you would like your child to stay for lunch, morning or after school club (TEDS).

We will update your child’s online learning journal to keep you informed of their learning and would love it if you could share your own observations from home.

Your child will receive their own reading book bag and will be able to choose a book each week for you to share at home.

The staff, are available after school on a daily basis, should you wish to speak to us, regarding your child.  Our parent partnership is of high importance to us as we believe this is key to your child’s growth and future potential. Please do not hesitate to let us know if there is anything which might affect your child’s emotional well-being, e.g. loss of a pet, not sleeping well, moving to a new house.

'What to expect when':

The purpose of this booklet is to help you as a parent or carer, find out more about how your child is learning and developing during their first five years, in relation to the EYFS. Children develop more rapidly during the first five years of their lives than at any other time. This booklet has been written to help you as a parent know what to expect during these vitally important years by focusing on the seven areas of learning and development which are covered in the EYFS.

Home Learning ideas

Hope you are all safe and well and able to get out in the garden with this lovely sunshine.  I'm thinking of you all and hope to see you soon. Mrs Leonard x

Here are some wonderful activities from the literacy trust which you may like to try at home

Some More Home Learning Ideas

  • Make a den, using blankets and materials.
  • If you have any flowers in the garden, have a go at an observational drawing together.
  • Make a picture with stickers. Peeling off stickers is great for fine motor practice.
  • Go in your garden to find mini beasts. Allow your child to take photos or draw what they find afterwards.
  • Make binoculars from paper tubes and look for signs of Spring
  • Draw around your child’s hand on cardboard, cut this out and encourage them to use this for measuring things around the house.
  • Role play school with teddies as pupils. You could make a weather chart together for your child to select the weather each day in role as ‘teacher’.
  • Play hide and seek with a toy or teddy using simple positional language, e.g. on, in, under, behind, in front of.
  • Counting with natural objects e.g. sticks or shells
  • Go on a number hunt
  • Make a paper plate craft- google is a great starting point for ideas
  • Make numbered cups or jars for counting objects
  • Make an instrument and use it to accompany your favourite music.
  • Make a cleaning box with sponges, dusters and a dustpan and brush for your child to play at cleaning. Spray bottles with water can also be used outdoors
