Hello Spectacled Bears,

I hope you are keeping healthy and safe whilst you are off school. You have been given lots of work to be getting on with in your text books but remember to check out the activities I have set on Purple Mash. Well done to those children who been accessing the activities already! For those of you who haven't been on yet, go and take a look at what's there!

I have also added some additional resources and links below to keep your brains active and keep you busy.

Please take care of yourselves and check in on our Purple Mash, group blog to let me know how you are and what you've been up to.

Best wishes,

Miss Williams :)

Welcome to the Spectacled Bears!

Our class teacher is Miss Williams.

We also have Mrs Guy working with us this year.

Some important things to remember in year 6:

- Our P.E days are Tuesday and Friday.

Children will need their P.E kits on these days but P.E kits should remain in school all week.

Maths and English homework will be given out on a Friday and should be returned to school every Tuesday morning.

Magic maths and spellings will be given out on Wednesday and tested the following Wednesday.

Homework is a very important part of year 6. It helps children to revise certain areas of the curriculum and prepare them for the homework they will receive in secondary schools.

If you fancy some extra spelling homework, then see if you can spell all of the Year 5 and 6 statutory spellings!

Children should be taking regular visits to the 'TTRockstars' website - they all have logins and codes, so no excuses!

As children prepare for their end of year tests, we need to ensure that they become increasingly fluent in their use of mathematical facts. We see every year that children who have learned their multiplication tables benefit greatly from the ability to recall facts quickly.

To help your child improve their speed of recall, we have organised a way for them to practise at home online.
