Medication Administered by School

Prescription and non-prescription medicines will only be administered at school:-

  • when it would be detrimental to the pupil's health or school attendance no to do so, and
  • where we have parents' written consent

We can only accept prescribed medicines that are:-

  • in date
  • labelled
  • provided in original containing, as dispensed by a pharmacist, and include instructions for administration, dosage and storage

Pupils will not be given any medicine containing aspirin unless prescribed by a doctor.

Over the counter medicines, such as paracetamol, ibuprofen and antihistamines, etc, can be administered in school, providing we have the appropriate signed consent.

Medical Conditions

It is vital that any pupils with medical conditions (asthma, epilepsy, diabetes, allergies, etc) notify school as soon as possible by completing our "Notification of Medical Condition Form".
