This was a fantastic opportunity to enrich their art knowledge and skills. The children thoroughly enjoyed it and are going to put what they learnt into practice in their next art lesson.

Year 2 - Woodlice Investigation
Date: 10th Nov 2023 @ 12:51pm
In science, the children have been learning about microhabitats.
For our investigation, the children had to find out what type of microhabitat woodlice would prefer.
3 types of micrhabitats in the investigation:
- Wet leaves and stones (damp and dark)
- Wet sand (damp and light)
- Dry stones (dry and dark)
The children places the woodlice in the centre of the box with the three different types of microhabitats and observed where they would go. The children counted how many woodlice were in each microhabitat after 1, 2 and 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, the children found out that the woodlice preferred to be in wet leaves and stones because the conditions were damp and dark.
