What an amazing, sunny day we all had today!
We began our day with an assembly with Jaydon Paddock where he told us all about his amazing achievements, then we went and completed some relay races and then onto circuits with Jaydon. The children had to really push themselves for this as they were challenging. Next it was onto football for a tournament and then onto African Dancing. The dancing was by far the most favourite activity for the children!
After lunch we had a rounders competition with 4M and then onto netball with Miss Rowe. Next we played tennis and finally finished our day with cricket.
The children have absolutely loved the activities and opportunities they have been given today and were all fully engaged in the activities. They have all learnt lots of new skills and most of the children want to join new sporting clubs.
Have a look at the photos to see what a great day we had.

This week, in preparation for our end of year reports, we have been thinking back over all our learning in Year 2 and deciding on a piece of work we are very proud of and why. Many of us chose our most recent Art project, some chose English, Maths or History.

For our first lesson on living things this term, we learnt about how, over years, animals have adapted to the habitats in which they live. We had lots of fun working collaboratively to hunt down the statements about adaptations for two animals (per group). We had to take it in turns to hunt an adaptation, bring it back to our group, read it aloud and stick it next to the correct animal. It was a great way to learn about adaptations of a range of animals from different habitats.

We had an incredible Sports day today! The children have thoroughly enjoyed themselves and have none stopped smiled and laughed all day (the weather also was kind to us, making it even better). We started the day with an assembly from British Gymansist, Jaydon Paadock. The children then did some yoga and stretches to set them up for the day. Then, they had a session with Jayden and were able to ask him lots of questions. We then had a chance to learn an African Dance and practise some tag rugby. After lunch, the children enjoyed tennis, football, dodgeball and relay races. The children worked so hard and showed great sportsmanship.
